Was founded on July 25, 1536 by Sebastian de
Belalcazar, making it one of the oldest cities in America. Is also one of the

inaugurated the Integrated Mass West (MIO), a mass transit system similar to
the TransMilenio of Bogotá. On October 1, 2012, in the city 520 buses out to
